Pattern notes: This elegant A-line sweater is knit in the round from the top down. The modified raglan yoke is worked in two colours. A simple lace pattern is worked on the front of the sweater yoke. The body and ¾ length sleeves are knit in stockinette stitch, in one colour, in the round; both are finished with twisted ribbing. It’s really important to use an invisible short row method for this sweater. Instructions are given for German Short rows / the ‘Double Stitch’ method in the pattern. Yarn All yarn requirements are approximate. Fingering Weight: 1050 (1125, 1250, 1350) (1500, 1675, 1825) yards / 960 (1030, 1145, 1235) (1370, 1530, 1670) metres. Colour A / Charcoal: 825 (900, 1000, 1100) (1250, 1400, 1550) yards / 755 (825, 915, 1005) (1145, 1280, 1420) metres. Colour B / Burgundy: 225 (225, 250, 250) (250, 275, 275) yards / 205 (205, 230, 230) (230, 250, 250) metres. Needles: US2.5 / 3mm circular needle (40 cm long) & US 4 / 3.5mm circular needle (60 cm long). US4 / 3.5mm & US 2.5 /3mm dpns or longer circular needle for magic loop method for sleeves. Notions: 8 stitch markers, holders / waste yarn, tapestry needle. Sizing: XS (S, M, L) (2L, XL, 2XL) To fit chest size: 32 (34, 37, 40) (43, 46, 50) inches / 81.5 (86.5, 94, 101.5) (109, 117, 127) cm. Actual chest measurements: 33.5 (35.4, 38.5, 41.5) (44.6, 47.7, 51.4) inches / 85.1 (89.9, 97.8, 105.4) (113.3, 121.2, 130.6) cm. Choose a size with 0 - 3 inches / 0 - 7.5 cm of positive ease at the bust. Gauge: 26 stitches & 38 rounds in 4 inches / 10 cm square in stockinette stitch in the round on larger needles (adjust needle size if necessary to get gauge). Use needles 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle for twisted ribbing.
