Tidal Spectacle

Aerial view of Montgomery Reef, Western Australia. The tidal range on the Montgomery Reef on the north-western coast of Australia amounts to around ten metres. After high tide, when the water level sinks within a few hours the water flows out of the large tidal channel faster than it can drain off the shelf thus creating numerous waterfalls that plunge over the edges of the reef.
