Stellarvue - Mark Savan captured this terrific shot of the Cosmic Bat nebula (LDN 43) in Ophiuchus with his SVX130T. This nebula rests approximately 1,400 light-years away from Earth in front of the larger, bright nebula LBN 7. This molecular cloud is so dense that it blocks the majority of LBN 7’s glowing gas, as well as light from background stars. The bat is 12 light-years in length and is home to many newborn stars. https://ow.ly/nja650VO9Fm #stellarvue | Facebook
